Carl was one of the good guys. One of the most decent people I've known and I'm proud to have called him my friend. There are too few people like him in the world and I'll miss him.

The minute you met Carl, it was like you were meeting a long lost friend. Within five minutes, or less, he had you laughing and thinking of good times. He passed cheer around wherever he went. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Our deepest sympathy go out to you all -- especialy to you, Cindy, and the rest of the family.

Dear Family and Friends of Carl, I only had the pleasure of knowing Carl when he would be at the old Stage Stop restaurant. I very greatly admired his dedication and courage when he went to be of assistance at the shootout that left three officers dead, and was wounded himself. He did not need to do that but that just went to show how dedicated to law enforcement that he was. All officers owe him a debt of gratitude. My prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. May God bless you. Carl Bailey SAPD Ret.

Carl and I went through the Border Patrol Academy in Los Fresnos. I most remember him from the wild and fun times we had during the academy in the barracks.
