We’ll take care of the rest.

Embalming and Viewing Policy

According to the Texas Funeral Service Commission, Texas law does not require embalming. Embalming is done by permission of the family. Most common carriers will require a body to be embalmed prior to shipping. The laws of the destination country or state will apply. Because of the rapid deterioration of a body after death, Texas law requires that bodies held for over 24 hours or in transit must be embalmed, refrigerated, or encased in a leak and odor proof container.(Facts about Funerals updated 2001).

For a traditional arrangement, one day of visitation of an embalmed body in a casket is provided the day and evening prior to the funeral. Viewing of an un-embalmed body would be for identification purposes only. Extended viewing of an un-embalmed body is not possible.
