Abel Calvillo Sr. of Charlotte, Texas, went to be with the lord on May 17, 2023. He was born on July 11, 1958, to Juan and Isabel Calvillo. Abel was a very hardworking man who loved being outside, hunting, fishing, and working on his house and vehicles. He would always lighten people's day by making jokes and making everyone laugh. He was respected by many, not only for his work ethic but his character, he always made time to be around his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Calvillo.

He is survived by his mother, Isabel Bermea Calvillo, his son, Abel Calvillo Jr., brother, Lloyd Calvillo and wife Angie of Charlotte, Texas, sisters, Juanita James and husband Robert of Jourdanton, Linda Garcia and husband Julian of Pleasanton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He also had many great friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home.  A funeral Mass will be held 11:30 am. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Charlotte with interment in Charlotte Community Cemetery.
