Mr. Abelardo Cantu Garcia passed away on February 13, 2026 at the age of 81.  Mr Garcia was born on Oct. 4, 1944 in Floresville to Jose Garcia and Maria Cantu Garcia.  He spent most of his career with HB Zachary, specifically in their fiber division.

Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Maria Garcia, his beloved wife Erlinda E. Garcia, his brothers Rafael C. Garcia, Mario C. Garcia, Alfredo C. Garcia, JoAngel C. Garcia, and Raymond C. Garcia.  He is survived by his children Laura Ramirez, Belinda Perez (James), Gilbert Garcia, and Stephen Garcia (Norma), siblings Jesse C. Garcia and Lupe C. Garcia, and his grandchildren Samantha Alcorta (Vincent), Venessa Gonzales, Jose P. Gonzales III, James Perez Jr. (Thea), Matthew Perez (Lauren), Mariah Sauceda (Anthony), Dustin Jake Garcia, Nicholas Ray Garcia, Patrick Garcia, Brianna Garcia, Danial Valadez, Akacia Ortiz, Karina Ortiz, Ayla Gutierrez, Isabella Gutierrez, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Garcia will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton.  Burial will follow at the Brite Cemetery north of Pleasanton.
