Adela Torres Coronado passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on January 13, 1953, in Charlotte to Aurelio Torres and Dominga (Martinez)Torres.

Adela, a devoted mother to her children and loving spouse to Vicente Coronado Sr, was never afraid of working hard. She had a wealth of wisdom and knowledge that she shared with everyone she encountered and was known for her kind-hearted nature, her sense of humor, and her strong and encouraging spirit.

Adela had a passion for gardening, cooking, and painting, and she loved nothing more than spending time in her garden or whipping up a delicious meal for her family. She had a love for music, often found singing along to her favorite tunes and enjoyed attending mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Adela will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her love for goats, and her collection of Indians. She always lent a helping hand to those in need and made a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bobby Coronado; sister, Marcelia Coronado; brother, Simon Torres; and daughter, Sandra Torres Coronado.

Adela is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Vincent Coronado, Sr.; sons, Jesse Coronado, Vicente Coronado, Jr., Sammy Coronado and Andy Coronado (Zelma Garza); daughters, Linda Coronado (Mario Reyna), Cindy Aguero (Cesario, Jr.) and Janie Coronado (Ramiro Gaitan, Sr.); brother, Serapio "Froggy" Torres (Lilly); sisters, Rosie Gaitan, Sylvia Gaitan (Juan) and Ester Morrales; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation for Adela will be held in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, April 18, 2024, starting at 2:00 pm, followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm. A Mass in her honor will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Friday, April 19, 2024, starting at 10:00 am. Following the services, Adela will be laid to rest in Charlotte Community Cemetery.
