It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Martinez Pena, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend. Albert left this world suddenly September 4, 2023, in Jourdanton, Texas. He was 51 years old.
Albert brought light and joy to every room he entered, and his contagious laughter and humor will forever resonate in our hearts. Born on December 21, 1971, in Slaton, Texas, Albert was the cherished son of Diana Martinez and Tiburcio Pena.
Albert was a dedicated and hardworking individual. He spent his career as a yard hand in the oil field industry, where his strong work ethic and commitment earned him the respect of his colleagues. He was known for his unwavering determination and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Beyond his professional life, Albert truly lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing along the banks of his favorite local rivers, where he found solace and a sense of peace. Albert's skills on the barbecue were legendary, and his gatherings were always filled with mouthwatering food and laughter. Whenever the music started playing, Albert was the first to hit the dance floor, showcasing his undeniable talent and bringing joy to everyone around him. Albert's most cherished moments were spent with his family.
Albert was preceded in death by his father Tiburcio Pena.
He is survived by his children, Loretta Cruz and husband Raul Vela Jr., Albert Pena Jr. and wife Selena Deleon, Sierra Pena, Joseph Pena, Nathan Pena, Adriana Pena and Lael Conner; mother, Diana Martinez; siblings, Michael Pena and Victor Anguiano, Priscilla Zavala, Alice Bryant, and Cyndi Anguiano; grandchildren, Raul Vela III, Angel Vela, Albert Pena III, Dezmond Pena, Aaliyah Pena, Santiago Pena, Aspen Sanchez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In celebration of Albert's remarkable life and the happiness he brought to us all, we will gather Monday, September 18, 2023, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Pleasanton, Texas starting at 2:00 pm with the rosary being recited at 7:00 pm with services concluding at 8:00 pm. Together, we will honor Albert and find solace in the memories we shared.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find comfort in the knowledge that Albert's spirit will live on forever in the lives of those he touched. He will be remembered for his zest for life, his love for his family, and his ability to light up any room with his infectious energy.
In this time of profound loss, may we find strength in each other as we come together to celebrate the remarkable life of Albert Martinez Pena. May his soul rest in everlasting peace.
