It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alice Marie Woomer, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on May 28, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 23, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, Alice lived a full and beautiful life, calling Jourdanton her home for many years.

Alice attended Saint Henry's Academy in San Antonio, Texas, and graduated in 1950. She was a gentle soul, known for her sweet disposition and kind heart. She loved needlepoint and cross-stitching, often creating beautiful pieces that would bring joy to those around her. In her earlier years, she cherished camping trips under the stars, where laughter and stories were shared around the campfire. An avid sports fan, she passionately supported the Dallas Cowboys and had a special fondness for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, often seen cheering enthusiastically during football season.

Alice dedicated much of her life to serving the community as a cafeteria worker at Jourdanton Independent School District. She took great joy in running the register and engaging with the students, ensuring every child had a warm meal and a kind word. Even as dementia gradually took its toll, her thoughts remained with the kids at the cafeteria, a testament to her caring nature.

Alice will be remembered for her gentle spirit and her ability to bring people together with her warm smile and easy-going personality.

Her family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life during the upcoming services at St. Matthew Catholic Church. A public viewing will be held on June 3, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by the Rosary at 11:00 AM and a Mass at 11:30 AM. After the services, Alice will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Matthew Cemetery.

Alice Marie Woomer touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her soul rest in peace.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Carl Woomer Sr; parents Albert and Alice Froboese; son Carl Bernard Woomer Jr; and brothers Leroy, Jackie, and Richard Froboese.

She is survived by her daughter Terri Jupe and her husband Richard; daughter-in-law Diane Woomer; brother Al Froboese; grandchildren Vance Jupe (Jodie), Bryce Jupe (Kim), and Michael Woomer (Marika); great-grandchildren Jadyn, Maebry, Kinnedy, Chase, Quinn, Brett Jupe, Lauren and Claire Woomer.
