With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Amparo G. Cisneros, who left us peacefully on December 25, 2024 as she was surrounded by her family, at the age of 92. Born on July 17, 1932, in Laredo, Texas to Tomas and Josefina Garcia.

Amparo dedicated 35 years of her life as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Sisters in Mercy, where her compassionate care made a lasting impact on countless lives. When she wasn't tending to others, she found joy in sewing and solving the mysteries of her favorite crime dramas on television.

Amparo is survived by her daughter San Juanita Castillo Martinez (David); son Gregorio Gabriel Castillo (Cristina); daughter Maria de Jesus Castillo Hernandez (Gilberto); grandchildren Gregorio Gabriel Castillo, Victor Michael Hernandez, Cristela Rebecca Castillo, Evelyn Elaine Martinez, and Jesus Daniel Castillo; great-grandson Rosendo Venegas IV; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A celebration of Amparo's life will take place on December 30, 2024. There will be a public viewing at Hurley Funeral Home starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a rosary at 12:00 PM. The funeral service will commence at 12:30 PM, also at Hurley Funeral Home.

Amparo will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Let us come together to honor her memory and the light she brought into our lives.

Amparo was preceded in death by: parents Tomas and Josefina Garcia; and siblings Benjamin Herrera, Rodolfo Garcia, Jesus Garcia, and Maria Augustina Garcia.
