Obituary

In loving memory of Anita Charo Castillo Cisnero

A light that shone brightly in the heart, Anita Charo Castillo Cisnero's warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. Born in the humble town of Pleasanton, TX on April 22, 1939, Anita's journey on this earth reached its peaceful end on November 2, 2024. A resilient and strong-hearted woman, Anita was a beacon of faith and devotion, constantly uplifting those around her in prayer.

Anita was the embodiment of a Proverbs 31 woman, a devoted homemaker who tirelessly ensured her family never went without. Her day began at sunrise as she tackled the many tasks awaiting her.

Life had not been easy for her as her mother passed away at an early age. Anita took on the role of mother to her 9 younger siblings, becoming their caregiver while still a child herself. Through these early challenges, Anita developed remarkable resourcefulness and selflessness, qualities she continued to pour into her family and community. Whether volunteering, baking pies, cleaning the church, tending to her plants, driving others in and about town, or sharing God's word with those around her, Anita's impact was profound and enduring. She was faithful to God and was consistent in reminding her children, grandchildren and countless others of His goodness.

Anita's strengths extended beyond her skills and talents. It was her boundless love and compassion that truly defined her. She loved her family deeply and was always willing to serve lending a helping hand wherever she could. Known for her boldness, caring spirit and unwavering faith, Anita touched the lives of many around her, leading some to Christ and struggling through to understand others. Her community knew her well, not only in her kindness but also for the fervent prayers she offered on their behalf.

As we gather to celebrate Anita's life, let us remember the love and light she brought into the world. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, inspiring us to carry forward her legacy of faith, compassion, and unwavering strength.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents Ramon and Felicidad Castillo; husband Gregorio Cisnero Sr; sons Robert and Nestor Cisnero.  She is survived by her children Gregory Cisnero Jr, Leonor Cisnero Salazar (John), Norman Cisnero, Felice Cisnero (Ruben Chapa), Pedro Cisnero (Ana Calvillo), and Andrew Cisnero; brothers Tony and Johnny Castillo; sisters Lupe Robles, and Carolyn Kimble; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
