In Loving Memory of Anita Justa Martinez
A Beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister, Nannas, ACTS Sister, God Mother, and Guadalupana
With hearts heavy and spirits uplifted, we announce the peaceful passing of Anita Martinez, who was called home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2024. While she is no longer with us in the flesh, Anita's profound faith assures us she is now embracing Jesus.
Anita lived her life as a beacon of light, guiding those around her with love, strength, and a deep devotion to God. A dedicated mother and cherished Nannas, she instilled in her family the unwavering belief that God is the guiding compass for every journey. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless, and she always reminded them to put God first in all things.
Anita embraced her role as a Catholic Godmother with the same love and devotion she gave to everything in her life. She saw it as her calling to be a guiding light for her Godchildren, offering them not only her love but a soft landing place with her and Jesus.
On a continuous basis, Anita reached out to her Godchildren, making sure they always felt connected, supported, and wrapped in Christ's love. It was through these simple acts of care and guidance that she became the best godmother, a reflection of her deep faith in God and her unwavering commitment to nurture others in their spiritual journey.
For Anita, being Nannas was the most cherished role of her life. Connecting with each of her 15 grandchildren wasn't just a duty—it was her calling and mission, a sacred bond that she nurtured with love and devotion.
Her touch on their souls will be everlasting, as each grandchild carries beautiful memories of their Nannas. From heartfelt conversations to shared moments of joy, she left a lasting mark on their lives, a legacy of love that will continue to inspire them for years to come.
Through these memories, her spirit lives on, forever guiding and embracing her grandchildren.
Her spiritual journey blossomed through her involvement in the ACTS community, where she became a Sister in Christ to many, sharing her testimony and encouraging others to seek the best within themselves. Anita's life was transformed through the St. Philip Benizi ACTS program, and she passionately dedicated herself to ensuring others experienced the same grace and renewal. In her honor, her family is establishing an Anita Martinez ACTS Fund, carrying forward her legacy of faith.
Anita was also a proud Guadalupana, devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe, faithfully serving alongside her sisters. She carried the love of Christ with her everywhere, sharing daily scripture and prayers with family and friends via social media. Even in her final moments, Anita's heart was set on others, praying out loud for the patients next to her, showing the depth of her compassion.
Her journey was never without its challenges, but Anita faced every obstacle with grace, moving forward in faith. Her motto, "God is good... all the time," was not just words but a way of life. Anita was a giver, a fighter, and someone who always saw the best in people. She wore God's lenses, and through her, we could glimpse the holiness she strived for every day.
Anita has now accepted her divine calling, not just as a beloved soul here on earth but as an angel in heaven. Though we will miss her presence dearly, we find comfort in knowing that she has found eternal peace and continues to fulfill God's will.
A celebration of Anita's beautiful life will be held at St. Philip Benizi Church in Poteet, Texas on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. – Rosary, and 10:00 a.m.- Catholic Mass. Followed by her burial at 11:00 a.m, in Madre Dolorosa Cemetery #2.
May her soul rest in peace. Amen
