It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Anna "Sue" (Marley) Dean of Pleasanton. She passed away in Cotulla on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Sue was born in Fowlerton, on Tuesday, July 11, 1939, to William Henry and Margaret Emmaline (Hardcastle) Marley.

In 1960, Anna met and married the love of her life, Charles Robert "Bob" Dean. They were married on Dec. 24th. They celebrated over 60 years of marriage until February of 2021, when Bob passed away.

They had 2 sons, and when the boys were young, they moved to Fowlerton so Bob could take a job with his brother-in-law, Frank Franklin, who was the commissioner for LaSalle County.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jourdanton, where she served in many areas. Sue was the admitting director of Mercy Hospital for many years. She was also a social worker for the mental health program.

Sue loved the Lord, her family, her church family and friends. She was a God fearing, kind and gentle Christian woman, a great wife, mother and grandmother. Sue will be dearly missed by all of the lives she touched.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Dean and fiancé, Bruna Trevino, Perry Dean and wife Halcy; and adopted daughter, Lori Cooper. Sue is also survived by grandchildren, Parker, Harrison and Erica Dean, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Marley.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00am at First Baptist Church, 515 Zanderson Avenue in Jourdanton. A reception in the hall will follow the services. Interment in Fowlerton Cemetery will be held at a later date.
