Augustine Eloy Sanchez, 71 of Campbellton, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on June 21,1952 to Augustine and Adela (Hernandez) Sanchez in Campbellton, Texas. An industrious ranch worker, Augustine was a true cowboy who dedicated his life to working for the land he loved. Despite receiving only a basic education, he worked tirelessly in the ranching industry, embodying the values of hard work and dedication.

Augustine had a deep love for music and was a skilled guitar player, finding joy and solace in the melodies he created. A great pool player, known for his infectious sense of humor, always ready with a funny that could brighten anyone's day, with his favorite drink diet dr. pepper in hand. Augustine joys in life were his children Rachel, Augustine, Megan, and Jacob, but his greatest joy came from his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, who never fail to bring a smile to his face.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Augustine, and Adela (Hernandez) Sanchez, brothers, George Sanchez, John Sanchez, and Richard Sanchez.

Augustine is survived by his children Rachel Sanchez (Brandon Hicks), Augustine (Sharon) Sanchez, Megan (Richard) Pacheco and Jacob (Gricel) Sanchez; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Benavides, Gilbert Sanchez, Theresa Estrada, Josie Garcia, and numerous other family members.

Throughout his years, Augustine lived a life filled with love, laughter, music, and hard work. His legacy as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-great grandfather, son and brother will forever be cherished by those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends; a celebration of life will be held later.

The cowboy may have ridden into the sunset, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of many.
