It is with great love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bailey Mae Martinez (7). She passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, in San Antonio, Tx. Bailey was born on Monday, January 25, 2016, to Shannon Ashley (Kosub) Martinez.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

On this day, with affirmative heart, the Kingdom of Heaven has received an angel. Our little Bailey, the light of her Mother's soul, with the spirit of illuminated innocence will forever be remembered by all who loved and knew her. Though her time on earth was short, her place in Heaven is eternally guaranteed. She is in our Lord's loving embrace now, where she will be cherished and protected forevermore. We can imagine her sitting on the Lord's knee, smiling up at Him with that twinkle in her eye and the infectious smile she wears. (She has him hooked).

Our adored Bailey, the "mini me" of her Mimi loved with great stature and big heart. She loved baking, participating in sports and activities, doing well in school and being with her many friends. Bailey loved shopping, dressing up, having lunch with her Mimi to get Chinese food and she loved her Chihuahua named "Peanut". Bailey loved helping her Aunt Sissy (Rachael) feed the cows and horses and driving the property in the Polaris with her Grandpa 'Ray' Reed whom she affectionately called "Grumpy".

Our little Bailey, in so few years, taught us so much about living through unconditional love and the innocence of viewing life through a child's eyes. Our little light, Bailey, will shine forever in our hearts through the memories she gave us and the capacity of loving she taught us. May Her Memory be Eternal.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Shannon Martinez; paternal grandmother, Norma Martinez AKA "Nana"; and maternal great-grandfather, Melvin LaFargue AKA Papa Gigi.

Bailey is survived by her maternal grandparents, Daylon Ray Reed, Jr. AKA "Grumpy" and Mary Ann Reed AKA "Mimi"; paternal grandfather, Pete Martinez; great-great granny, Ernestine Teel; aunt, Rachael Reed AKA "Aunt Sissy"; great-grandmothers, Evelyn LaFargue AKA "Gigi Evers", Bonnie Voelkel AKA "Gigi" (Orville) and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 27, 2023, at 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home. Interment at Pleasanton City Cemetery.
