Campbellton
Beatrice Cadena Caballero, at the age of 93 ,has fulfilled her time on Earth. She passed away at her home in Campbellton, on Thursday, February 16,2023, surrounded by her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hipolito and Paulita R. Cadena; husband, Enrique "Henry" Caballero; daughter, Linda Sue Usborne and all ten of her brothers and sisters, Tomasita Toscano, Joe Cadena, Paul Cadena, Lupe Martinez, Lucia Davila,Sofia Delgado,Jesse Cadena, Delfina Loza, Margarita Reyes and Angelita Franco.
She was born in Campbellton, on August 16, 1929 and graduated from Campbellton High School in 1947. She married Henry at Sacred Heart Church on February 13, 1949 and had been married for 66 years at the time of his death. They raised 3 daughters in San Antonio; Linda, Patricia and Eva but later moved back to Campbellton to care for her dad until his death.
She loved the country life and vowed to live out the rest of her years in her childhood home. She was an excellent athlete in volleyball (The Volleybelles) as well as softball. Both sports kept her traveling for many years throughout Texas and across the United States. Additionally, she was a Spurs and UT Lady Longhorn Volleyball enthusiast.
She was a hard worker from her youth, helping on the farm, to her years at Kelly AFB as a secretary in the Material Management Directorate. She enjoyed the challenge of learning new information. She loved music and dancing. Our home was filled with the sounds of Big Bands to Frank Sinatra to Tejano music.
Bea had an affinity for politics and was an election judge for Atascosa County for a number of years. She encouraged everyone to vote, no matter the party affiliation; "just exercise the right to vote!"
She is survived by daughters, Eva Caballero and Patricia Clark (Tony) and beloved granddaughter Hannah and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to friends and relatives, near and far, who continued to write notes, call, and visit.
Congratulations, Beatrice, on a life well-lived!
