Becky Lynn
Stanga
Mar 23, 1969 — Jan 13, 2026
On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the world lost a truly unforgettable spirit, Becky Lynn Stanga, at the age of 56. Born in San Antonio on March 23, 1969, to Tony Edward Luna and Linda Carol (Upton) Luna, Becky lived life on her own terms, never afraid to speak her mind.
Becky was known for her love of good times—drinking, smoking and singing along to her favorite music, and always bringing her own brand of fun to every gathering. You never had to guess how Becky felt about anything; she was matter-of-fact, direct, and refreshingly honest. Her presence was impossible to ignore, and her laughter could fill a room.
Her love for animals, especially her cats, earned her the affectionate title of "Cat Lady." Becky's feline companions, were cherished as part of her family. To her grandchildren, she was "Nonny," a grandmother whose love was as fierce as her personality.
Becky found joy in the beach, sand, and sun, though she disliked water because she didn't know how to swim. She was happiest with her toes in the sand, a cold drink in hand, and the sound of waves in the distance. Her family and friends will remember her for her unwavering loyalty, her unapologetic spirit, and the countless memories she created with those she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Stanga; her parents, Tony and Linda Luna; her daughters, Kristen Cole, Hollie Rodriguez, Jaci Brunet, and Chloe Brunet Cooksey (Trey); her godson, Cody Riddell and Shayla "Charlie" Riddell; her sister, Cyndi Riddell (Todd); sister-in-law, Debbie Whitley; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family and circle of friends.
Becky was preceded in death by her son, Rexie "Bubba" Weed, Jr.; brother, Tony "Boomer" Luna; and grandparents, Antonio and Mabel Luna and Edith Upton; aunt, Gerri Luna; and uncle, John Luna.
Becky's legacy is one of authenticity, love, and a little bit of trouble—just the way she liked it. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever celebrated by all who knew her.
Services for Becky are scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026 in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting with a visitation at 6:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at 7:00 pm.
