Betty Ruth
Katcsmorak
Nov 4, 1937 — Apr 27, 2025
Leming
Betty Ruth Katcsmorak of Leming, passed from this world on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on November 4, 1937, in Smithville, Texas to Paul Michalski and Clara (Grahmann) Michalski.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Eddie" Katcsmorak; parents, Bill and Clara Smith; sister, Roberta Petree; and brother Melvin Michalski.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Cindy McCasker (David), Randy Katcsmorak (Xenia) and Beverly Blalock (Wilson); sister, Shirley Flores; sister-in-law, Pat Michalski; brother-in-law, Alfred Katcsmorak (Gladys); grandchildren, Toni McCasker, Ami McCasker, Cody Katcsmorak (Summer) and Walker Korus; and one great-grandbaby Katcsmorak on the way.
A devoted homemaker, Betty took immense joy in her family and the beautiful traditions they built together. She was a master in the kitchen, effortlessly passing down her love for cooking to her daughters, Cynthia and Beverly. Cooking and family gatherings were her favorite, especially during Thanksgiving when she'd whip up a delicious meal, leading to a tradition of a hayride after lunch.
Betty was also very involved in her church and church family. She attended mass every weekend faithfully until her health deteriorated but still was devoted to saying the rosary on her own.
Betty had a passion for birding, taking several trips abroad with her sister, Roberta, and then with her daughter, Beverly. She was also a lover of gardening, always tending to her flowers with care. The moments spent outdoors, whether it was picnicking at lakes or rivers with her family or watching Eddie and Randy work cattle on the farm, filled her heart with joy. There was nothing quite like dancing with Eddie, as those sweet country music memories will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
In honor of her life and legacy, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at St. Luke Catholic Church, starting at 5:30 pm with a reciting of the rosary at 6:00 pm. Funeral mass will be Thursday, May 1, 2025, also at St. Luke Catholic Church starting at 10:00 am, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/give.html - by mail at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by clicking the Memorial Donation button at the bottom of her obituary. Betty was extremely passionate about the research at St. Jude and their lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children.
