Pleasanton

Betty was the type of women that never met a stranger. She enjoyed meeting new people and making genuine connections with them. She was a very independent person, who desired to remain living independently for the past 24 years after the passing of her husband Farren. Betty retired from Southwest ISD where she served as bookkeeper at Central Office. She stayed busy after retirement through volunteering at Southwest Church of Christ, her home congregation, utilizing her technology skills by making the bulletins every week. in 2012 she moved to Pleasanton and placed her membership with the Pleasanton Church of Christ. While she was still able to drive, she would attend bible studies during the week and worship services when she could. When she was unable to be there physically any longer, she would watch services online. She was a very competitive person, playing bunco with her lifelong friends in Macdona, participating in a bowling league in San Antonio, even staying fit with her local TOPS group. She enjoyed traveling and seeing the country. She even took a cruise with her son Larry and his family. She enjoyed the winter snow in Michigan where she would make snow angels with her grandsons. She loved to shop and was a collector of all things. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be deeply missed.
