Billy Ray Ryan, aged 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Jourdanton. In every aspect of his life, from the quiet moments spent fishing to the joyful games of dominos, from the adventures of family vacations to the meticulous craftsmanship of his hands, and the vibrant blooms of his garden, he left a legacy of love, kindness, and simple joys. His willingness to help others and his passion for the things he loved created a life well-lived, one that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

This tribute celebrates a remarkable individual whose simple pleasures and generous spirit profoundly touched the hearts of many. His memory will continue to inspire and bring warmth to those fortunate enough to have been part of his life.

He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Thompson and her husband Robert, Jennifer Roberts, Barbara Neve and her husband Mike; his son Jeffery Ryan; his sisters Marie Gholson and her husband Albert, and Ginger Gonzales and her husband Julian; his brother Charles Bayless and his wife Roberta; as well as his grandchildren Robert, Michael, Jenna, Jasmine, Jackie, Destiny, Ty, Carolyn, James, Samantha, Brittany, Kaylan, Kristopher, Amber, and eight great-grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Mamie Ryan, and one grandson Jeffery Ryan, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hurley Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Hurley Funeral Home, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Devine, Texas.
