Bonifacio Martinez Jimenez "La Pulga", 51, of Poteet, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024.  He was born on February 18, 1972, in Charlotte to Felix Jimenez and Alvina Rodriguez, and raised by his uncle and aunt, Juan Q. Jimenez and Erminia "Minnie" Jimenez.

For those who knew Boni, knew he was that friend that would be there for you no matter what.  He was the type to stop and help people who were stranded on the side of the road and never ask for money in return.  It was always "pay it forward".  Boni was very outgoing and loved to make friends wherever he would go.  He was very confident and outspoken, the life of the party.

He had a mind that ran a mile a minute.  Boni could figure out any obstacle given to him, and whatever it would be, would actually be something our minds probably wouldn't have thought of.  He was a jack of all trades, but especially loved being a mechanic, especially with his brothers and friends.  His last passion was working with tires.  Boni loved tire road service because he was able to not only enjoy the work he loved, but he was able to be on the road and be at peace instead of being stuck at a job site.  His plan was to open his own tire shop and call it "La Pulga" Tire Service.  He was only days away from that dream being made into a reality.

Boni will be greatly missed.  He was the best father anyone could ask for.  He loved his children with all he had, and adored his nieces and nephews so much that he considered them his own.  Boni would always call his siblings and joke around with them knowing he could always count on them if he ever needed anything, and vice versa.  We will definitely miss him poking fun at them all.

He had a contagious laugh like no other, and that laugh will be forever instilled in our minds.  Whether friend, foe or enemy, Boni has for sure left a huge impact on us all.  He will most definitely be missed.

To my love: I will never forget the first day I met you.  We were at a party celebrating you.  You called me over and kept giving me your beers to open.  You would flirt, but I wouldn't.  You wanted to get to know me better, but I was already taken so you told me, "Promise me if you ever become single, look me up."  A year passed and we saw each other at another party.  We started talking again, and this time I was single. You got a call about an uncle in the hospital that had only hours to live, so you grabbed me and took me with you to go see him.  Your uncle passed, but we stayed for a bit.  When we finally got ready to leave, and we entered the elevator, you grabbed me and kissed me just as the doors closed.  You thanked me for being by your side.  We ended up going to your mom's house, where you introduced me to your family.

When you asked me to move in, I didn't know what to say.  Your stepdad came up to me and asked, "Are you going to be with him or not?" Being scared of him, I quickly said "yes" and moved in.  Now look baby, almost 28 years together.  We had our ups and downs through the years, but let me tell you babe, I stuck by you through the good, the bad and the worst.  You taught me so much through the years, how to be a mechanic, how to change a tire, change the brakes, how to drive a stick shift.  Let's just say I know enough and that's all thanks to you.

We have 2 beautiful children together, and they both carry too many of your features.  People would always say, "When are ya'll going to have more?", but now that your gone and resting, our kids continue to carry on your legacy.  I love you babe, always have, even though things these past few years were not the same, you tried your best for us all, and for that we will be forever grateful.

Now your mind can rest, and you can be at peace.  We all miss you so much, we forgive you!!!  Thanks for being in our lives and loving us with all you had.  Head to toe - heart and soul - always and forever.

Bonifacio was preceded in death by his brother, Miguel Jimenez; adopted father, Juan Jimenez; sister, Juanita Martinez; and his biological father, Felix Jimenez.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Rodriguez Jimenez; son, Isaiah Jimenez; daughter, Inaiah Jimanez; biological mother, Alvina Rodriguez; adopted mother, Ermina  Jimenez; brother, Edward Jimenez; sisters, Rebecca Ballesteros and Christina Jimenez; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services for Bonifacio are scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2024, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting with a visitation from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, with a funeral service at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at San Ysidro Cemetery.
