Carl Ray Jensen passed away on Friday January 12, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born in Beeville, Texas to Carl Eugene and Lola Mae Jensen.
Carl grew up in Taft, Texas. He joined the Marine Corp at the age of 17. He served his country during the Vietnam War and received three Purple Heart Awards throughout the time that he served.
He married his beloved wife Debra Schubert Jensen in 1973 and was blessed to be married for over 50 years. They had four children and have 12 grandchildren.
He and his wife lived in Taft from 1973-1987 and moved to Poteet, Texas area until 2010 when they moved to Jourdanton, Texas and retired here.
Carl Ray worked as a Heavy Machinery Mechanic in his younger years. He started his own Transportation Business in 1987 in the manufactured home industry.
He never met a stranger and loved having his family and friends around. Everyone always came to him for advice or even just to talk about random things or old stories.
His hobbies in his younger years were building and driving race cars and mud trucks. His older years he was involved in the Disabled Veteran Association (DAV) and enjoyed doing family activities with his children and grandchildren. One thing that he definitely loved were all of his dogs.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, his sister April Maddox and his eldest son Marcus Jensen.
He is survived by his wife Debra, Daughter in law Jodee Jensen and children Kaitlynn, Ethan and Harper, Son Kevin Jensen, wife Melissa and children Anna, Alyssa, and Alexandra, Son Aaron Jensen, wife Jenny and children Kaylee and Bailey, Daughter Amber Jensen, husband Marvin and children Aubrey, Gavin, Matheo, and Marcus. He is also survived by his brother Johnny Maddox and two half siblings that he just recently connected with.
A memorial service will be at St. John Lutheran Church Saturday, January 27, 2024, starting at 11:00am with a private burial.
