Obituary

Charles Travis Mansfield was born on November 2, 1944, to Travis and Pearl Mansfield (nee Smith) in Pleasanton, Tx.

He graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1963 and briefly attended Southwest Texas Junior College.  He owned and operated Red Barn Fertilizer with his brother, Jimmy, owned and operated Arrowhead Realty and worked at San Miguel Lignite Mine in Christine where he drove a monster truck.  After moving to Ruidoso NM in 1997 he owned and operated Mansfield Homes and Mansfield Furniture.  Many of the owners for whom he built homes would call to say how much they loved their houses.

He loved country music and country dancing, playing cards and hunting.  He thoroughly enjoyed life and always wanted to be involved with friends and family.  He especially enjoyed visiting with this friends from high school attending all their reunions whenever he was able.

He married his wife, Allyson, in 1994 in Pleasanton.  They spent 29 years together living in Pleasanton, Ruidoso, NM and Elgin Oklahoma.

He passed at home with Allyson and a hospice nurse on September 3, 2023.  Allyson is very grateful for the help and love the hospice nurses and aides showed Charles.

He is survived by his wife, his children Dana Leigh Bremer and Bret Travis Mansfield, his brother and wife, Jimmy and Janice Mansfield, his sister Janie Bishop, his grandchildren, Justin, Lindsey and Jacob Bremer, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.   He is also survived by Allyson's children,  Kristi Guyler Cartwright, Robert William Guyler II and grandchildren, Katherine Grace Cartwright and Margaret Allison Cartwright.

Graveside memorial service to be held at Pleasanton Cemetery on November 4th at 11:00am.  In lieu of flowers donations are welcome at the Lincoln County Humane Society in Ruidoso, the Alzheimer's Association,  or CompleteOk Hospice in Lawton Oklahoma.
