Connie M. Rodriguez, age 78, passed away early Monday evening on March 27, 2023, in San Antonio Texas. Born April 24, 1944, to Jose Manuel and Filomena (Romero) Montemayor.
Connie was born and raised in Pleasanton and is preceded in death by her father, and mother, Joe and Filomena Montemayor and sister, Esperanza Montemayor. Previous husband and father of her child, Louis J. Rodriguez and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Connie was an independent lady who loved her family. She was educated and very career minded starting as a Librarian, then pursuing bigger challenges by joining the Federal work force at Kelly AFB and ultimately retiring from the Defense Contract Management Administration, Austin TX. She was a guardian and emotional supporter to her beloved mother, sister, brother, daughter, and grandchildren in various ways throughout her life until she could not. Connie loved her parrot Nanni, turtles, cats and dogs. She supported animal shelters and veteran organizations when she could. Classic movies, rock, opera, and the cello were her go to entertainment.
Survived by her daughter, Dina Ann and son-in-law Ruben Terrazas of Pleasanton, grandson, Blaine Gonzales and wife Savannah of Pleasanton, granddaughter, Analiese Terrazas and great granddaughter Aliana Oliva both of Pleasanton. Brother, John Joe and Polly Montemayor, Center Texas, as well as, Mary Alice and Albert Blanco of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. Niece, Melissa Montemayor & family, of Houston and nephew, John Montemayor of London UK. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation will be conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, beginning at 10:00 am. A rosary will be recited at 12:00 pm, followed by funeral mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at the San Ysidro Cemetery.
