Damacio Silva passed away peacefully at home on Monday evening, December 12, 2022, just shortly after celebrating his 85 th birthday.
Born December 11, 1937, in Pleasanton, Texas, Damacio Silva was a son of Santos Silva, Sr. and Angelita (Zamora) Silva. Damacio had a wonderful childhood in Leming growing up with his 4 brothers. At a young age, his willingness to help others grew fondly. Damacio was a US Army veteran and was proud to serve our country.
Damacio was a hardworking man and had the greatest work ethic. Damacio worked for National Terrazzo Tile & Marble, Inc. in Houston for over 20 years. He was a terrazzo setter and undoubtedly the best at his skill.
Damacio was one of a kind, with the most genuine and giving heart. He made an everlasting impression on anyone and everyone he came across. He loved his Spanish music and riding around the town. Damacio never missed a beat and lived his life to the absolute fullest. Damacio was loved by all his family, who are thankful to have been in his presence. He will be greatly missed.
Damacio is survived by his brother, Jenaro "Henry" Silva; niece, Sonia Ruiz (Felipe); great nieces, Vivian Colunga (Victor), Amber Ruiz, and Alexis De Los Santos; great nephews, Eugene Garza III, Michael Warren and numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Damacio was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Angelica Silva and brothers, Ramon Silva, Santos Silva, Jr. and Rodolfo Silva, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Hurley Funeral Home, located at 118 W. Oaklawn Road, Pleasanton, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 170 Hackberry Street, Leming, at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, located at 218 FM 536 in Pleasanton, Texas 78064.
