Daniel David Heinen III, known to family friends as Dan, The Cowboy and the Blue Eyed Man. He went to be with the Lord on Friday June 12, 2026, at the age of 75. Dan was born in Pleasanton, Texas on October 8, 1950.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel David Henien II, Barbara Ann Baty Heinen, his son, Christopher Heinen, his two brothers, Matthew and Karl Heinen and his beloved stepmother, Peggy Heinen.

Dan's passion was his ranch that was left to him by his beloved parents, in Pleasanton, Texas. Dan was a faithful in service to God and his church. He loved his beautiful land, his tractors and had a great love for his darling cows, and his loving cat, Fred. And not to forget his three amigos, Keith Everett, Scooter Everett and Martin Trejo.

In his spare time, he loved driving Miss Daisy (Eva) to her appointments and enjoyed the long drives to small towns around San Antonio. He always looked forward to the breakfasts and lunches with good friends and never forgot the Kickapoo Trips and Bingo's at St. James the Apostal Catholic Church, where he got to see old friends. Dan was a loving and kind soul. He had a great sense of humor and was a brilliant man in all subjects. We will miss his endless amount of stories.

He survived his beloved wife, Eva Garcia Heinen of 26 years, whenever you saw one of them, there was the other one, always together. When he would talk about Eva, you could see his blue eyes sparkle with love and compassion. His surviving children from previous marriages are Daniel David Heinen IV, James Heinen, Jared Heinen, Amanda Danielle Gomez and his bonus stepdaughter, Veronica De Leon. He has one brother, Dennis Heinen, and two sisters, Mary Ellen Hoybook and Melissa Heinen-Bray. He loved his number one niece, Rebecca (Becky) M. Vasquez along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Palm Heights Mortuary, 3711 S. Zarzamora St. San Antonio, Texas 78225 with a rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. lead by the Guadalupana's.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 907 W. Theo San Antonio, Texas 78225 where services will conclude.
