Daniel Rivera Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, will be dearly missed after his passing on May 12, 2024. Born on July 21, 1958, in Pleasanton, TX, Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
As the owner and operator of Rivera Paint and Body in Poteet, Daniel was not just a skilled businessman but a generous soul who relished in helping others. His passion for hunting, particularly for pigs, was matched only by his exceptional ability to whip up mouthwatering brisket that delighted all who tasted it. A natural entertainer, Daniel's jovial nature and penchant for humor ensured that laughter filled the air whenever he was around. His dedication to ensuring others' happiness and well-being, paired with his deep involvement in the local community, solidified his place as a cherished figure to many.
Daniel's memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 42 years, Imelda Rivera; his sons Daniel Rivera Jr. (Crystal), Jose Antonio Rivera (Andrea), and Jorge Luis Rivera (Tiffany); his grandchildren Christopher, Eboni, Evan, and Chloe Rivera; and his siblings Simon Rivera (Irene), Rosa Luna (Arnulfo), Elia Benitez (Valdemar "Blackie"), Luis Rivera (Bertha), Roy Rivera (Debbie), Sam Rivera (Lillian), and Lydia Montalvo (Ernesto). He is also survived by host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Let us remember him for the joy he brought to our lives and the light he forever imprinted on our souls. In his passing, Daniel Rivera leaves behind an unforgettable mark of laughter, love, and devotion that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Daniel.
Daniel was preceded in death by parents Simon Rivera and Guadalupe Soto Rivera.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Rivera Jr., Jorge Rivera, Chris Rivera, Tony Rivera, Javier Rivera and Christian Olivia.
A visitation for Daniel will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Hurley Funeral Home, starting at 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at St. Philip of Benizi Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Madre Dolorosa Cemetery #2.
