Darryl Ray Mays, 68, of Pleasanton, TX passed away on June 8, 2023.  He was born on April 16, 1955 in San Antonio, TX to Wayne Adair Mays and Alice JoAnn Moore.  Darryl was a kind-spirited man, loving, and full of life.  He had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a joke to tell to get a few laughs.  He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting, riding horses, and playing baseball.  He loved working with his hands and naturally picked up welding, turning it into his lifelong career as a welder and welding inspector.

He is preceded in death by his father Wayne Mays; grandparents Grant and Ruby Moore, and Vora and Oleaa Mays.  Darryl is survived by his mother Alice Mays; brothers Gary, Scott, and Ricky Mays; Robin Mays and daughters Lisa, Tara, Dana, and Jena Mays.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home.  Mass will be 10:00 a.m. St. Luke Catholic Church with burial to follow at Tomlinson Cemetery.
