Obituary

David "Beaver" Navejar, Jr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the age of 74. Born to David R. Navejar and Lucia (Guerra) Navejar on December 19, 1949, in San Antonio, David was a cherished father, friend, and neighbor.

David dedicated his life to hard work and took pride in his accomplishments. He held various positions throughout his career, including working for Bexar County as the maintenance foreman for Commache Park. For over a decade, he worked at Dornak, where he made lasting friendships and left a lasting impact.

Retirement brought joy and leisure into David's life. He found great pleasure in cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys on game days. Additionally, his love for dancing, fishing, and the occasional visit to the casino brought immense happiness to his days. David was known for his wit and humor, always making those around him laugh with his quick jokes and playful spirit.

Family held a special place in David's heart. The love he had for his family extended beyond blood ties - David was always ready to lend a helping hand and take care of anyone who needed it. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

David was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Maria Navejar.

He is survived by his daughters, Erica Navejar, Serena Duquette (Julio Alvarado), Candy Coronado (Efrain Hernandez), Brandy Ruiz (Blanca Ruiz), Rosa Terrazas, Carolina Thomas and Pia Coronado; sons, Angel Navejar, Javier Coronado, Reyes Coronado, Luciano Coronado, Jr. (Hollie); brother, Richard Navejar (Velma); sister, Teodora Herrera; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting at 3:00 pm, where friends and loved ones can pay their respects. The rosary will commence at 7:00 pm on the same day. On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, a Mass will be held at 11:30 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, followed by a burial at San Jose Cemetery on La Parita Road, Jourdanton, Texas, at 12:45 pm.
