Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Earl McKinney, a beloved husband, Army Veteran, and dedicated laborer, who passed away on March 20, 2024, in Pleasanton, Texas. Born on February 22, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Henry E. McKinney and Gladys E. Shearrer McKinney.

David was a hardworking man who spent many years in the oil industry, working at various locations from offshore rigs to refineries in Wyoming, where he eventually retired from Little America Refinery. His dedication to his work was commendable, and his colleagues respected him for his strong work ethic.

After retirement, David and his beloved wife, Pauline McKinney, embarked on a new adventure together, traveling across the country in their RV. Their journey led them to Yellowstone Park, where they both found work at a guest ranch. David even worked as a tram driver while Pauline served as the conductor, a testament to their shared experiences and unwavering bond.

In his free time, David enjoyed elk hunting, salmon fishing, gardening, and working in the yard. These simple pleasures brought him immense joy and fulfillment, reflecting his down-to-earth nature and appreciation for the beauty of nature.

A Celebration of Life ceremony in honor of David McKinney will be held at Pleasanton Church of Christ on March 27, 2024, at 10:00 am, where friends and family will gather to pay their respects and reminisce about the cherished moments shared with David.
