David Lee Offenbaker, 69, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2024, at his home in Jourdanton, Texas. He was born on July 13, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, to Claudie Lea Offenbaker (née Morton) and George Wendell Offenbaker. Raised in San Antonio, Texas, and Anchorage, Alaska, David developed a strong foundation of family and community values. He was the youngest of four children.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Claudie, his father, George, and his brother, also named George. He is survived by his beloved children, Jenny Offenbaker, David Offenbaker, Jr., and Christopher Offenbaker; his cherished grandchildren, John Michael Espinosa and Julia Marie Espinosa; and his lifelong friend of 50 years, Donna Whitmire. He is also survived by his brother, John of Granbury, Texas, and his sister, Oretha Pack of Sweetwater, Texas, along with countless other friends and family members who will forever remember him fondly.

David married Donna Kay Middleton in October 1976, and together they had three children: Jenny, David, Jr., and Christopher. He was immensely proud of his children. Jenny and David, Jr. both followed noble paths as nurses, embodying the caring spirit he cherished, while Christopher inherited his father's creative skills, becoming a talented metal worker. Their achievements were a source of great pride for him.

David dedicated over 40 years to the electrical power plant industry, with nearly 37 of those years spent at San Miguel Electric Cooperative. He retired in 2015, allowing him to immerse himself in his passions, which included carpentry, music, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Known for his exceptional carpentry skills, David's creativity shone through in the beautiful pieces he crafted. His love for music brought joy to his life and those around him.

David's hospitality was legendary; he welcomed everyone with open arms and made them feel at home. Those who knew him will remember him as one of the most generous and giving individuals, with a dry wit and sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. Affectionately known as "Big David," he was a gentle giant, an enemy to none, and a friend to many. His presence will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In accordance with his wishes, David will be cremated, and his family will celebrate his life at a later date.
