Debra Lynn Cooper, a true animal lover with a heart of gold, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, in Jourdanton, Texas. Born in San Francisco, California on June 19, 1958, she was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force and later served her community as an animal control officer in Coupeville, WA. Debra had a contagious love for life and animals, especially Great Danes, who held a special place in her heart. She never met a stranger, always eager to make new friends wherever she went.

Debra was survived by her husband David Cooper, daughter Taylor Cooper, son Jon Telles and wife Megan, brothers Donn Elsey and David Elsey.  She is also survived by grandchildren Dylan Telles and Theodore Telles who is on the way and her beloved dogs Maia and Pippa.

She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Leona Elsey, and one sister Ginger Elsey.

A celebration of Debra's life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Chapel in Pleasanton, Texas.
