Delfina E. Valdez, 85, San Antonio, passed away peacefully at her home on April 7, 2023.  She was born on December 24, 1937 in Poteet and was 1957 graduate of Poteet High School. She loved to travel and after retiring from UT Health Science Center, she was able to take advantage of even more opportunities to see the world.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willi and Hermenia Durand; brothers, Roy, Rudy, Billy, Robert and Adolf Durand; and her sister, Elida Salazar.

Delfina is survived by her husband, Ronald Valdez; daughter, Yvonne Valdez; son, Gerald Valdez and his wife Rebecca; brother, Ron Durand; sisters, Maria Mendoza, Gloria Garcia, and Matilda Salazar.

All services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 beginning with visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 pm, reciting of the rosary at 6:30 pm, and funeral services at 7:00 pm all at Hurley Funeral Home.
