Somerset lost a beloved member of its community on February 5, 2024, as Dennis Wayne Hodges peacefully passed away at the age of 72. Born in San Antonio, Texas on May 22, 1951, Dennis was a cherished husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend.
Dennis dedicated his life to caring for his loved ones, showing unwavering support, and spreading love to all who crossed his path. His nurturing nature extended beyond his immediate family, as he warmly embraced his extended family, faith community, and friends. Known for his kind-heartedness, Dennis possessed a genuine love for others, and it radiated through his every action and interaction.
Dennis took great pride in maintaining his property, ensuring that everything was in order for the enjoyment of his family and friends. Whether it was brush hogging the land or lending a helping hand to neighbors, Dennis had an innate sense of responsibility and generosity that endeared him to those around him.
Dennis Hodges' life seemed to revolve around the happiness and well-being of others. He was the kind of person who would selflessly meet a need before being asked, and his actions spoke volumes about his character and compassion. His presence brought joy and laughter to every gathering, and his contagious laughter and warm smile will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Ronda Hodges; daughter, Melissa Churchill (Charles); sons, Dennis Hodges Jr. (Samantha Marez), Devon Gattis (Stephanie), and Dylan Wickwire; grandchildren, Trace and Lilly Sagemuehl, Marlie and Justus Niemietz, and Emaleigh Churchill; brother, Ronald Hodges (Susan); sister-in-law, Shirley Hodges; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Alberta Hodges, and brother, James Hodges.
As we mourn the loss of Dennis Wayne Hodges, let us also celebrate the vibrant life he lived and the joy he brought to those he touched. We gather together to honor and remember Dennis in a celebration of life that will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Browns OK Corral 4747 Brown Rd. Poteet, TX 78065
