Dolly Beatrice (McDonald) Eichman of Poteet passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the age of 88.  She was born in rural Poteet on April 4, 1935, to Lemual and Alice (Agan) McDonald.

Dolly married Roland "Boots" Eichman in 1956 and together raised 2 sons in Poteet where she resided until her death.  Boots and Dolly, married 63 years, spent many days fishing the saltwater bays of Corpus Christi. They loved playing dominoes with their grandchildren.  Dolly graduated from Poteet High School in 1953.  She attended Draughon's Business College of San Antonio where she learned shorthand and bookkeeping.  She used those skills at Tuttle Motor Company, Pleasanton Hospital, William Volker's Furniture store and Rice's Furniture. She served as Poteet City Secretary for 8 years.  She volunteered for many years at the Atascosa County Genealogy Library until her health caused her to slow down.

Dolly was preceded in death by Boots, her parents and siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Roland Keith Eichman and Darrell Wayne Eichman, and her beloved grandchildren, Eric Eichman and wife Kimberly, Elizabeth Eichman, Stephanie Eichman Srivastava and husband Vikram, Bridget Eichman and husband Jessiah Headdy.  She has two great-grandchildren Lori Belle Eichman and Ella Srivastava.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 1, 2023, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting at 9:00 am until 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am.  Burial will be at Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet.
