Obituary

Donna G Hurley, a woman of unwavering faith, exquisite grace, and boundless love, bid farewell to this earthly realm on March 26, 2024. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on August 20, 1943, she exuded a radiant spirit that touched the lives of all who had the fortune of crossing paths with her.

In her professional journey, Donna dedicated her talents to the world of accounting and administration, ultimately finding solace and fulfillment as the devoted secretary of Charlotte Baptist Church. Her commitment to her church community was steadfast, embodying the values of compassion, integrity, and service in every task she undertook.

A poignant melody always resonated through Donna's life, for music was her sanctuary. Whether skillfully playing the piano in the church choir, playing in the high school band or captivating audiences with the harmonious notes of the organ, her musical prowess illuminated souls and brought hearts closer together.

Family, the cornerstone of her existence, held an irreplaceable position in Donna's heart. She took her role as an older sister seriously and spent as much time possible playing and caring for her younger siblings growing up. Her son, William Hurley, was the apple of her eye until her grandchildren came into her world and stole that claim.

Donna's journey led her to Pleasanton in 1958, where she wove the fabric of her life with threads of kindness, faith, and endless devotion. A beacon of love, she radiated warmth and generosity.
Adored as a loving mother and cherished grandmother, Donna cherished the simple pleasures of life—embracing family reunions, sharing laughter, and creating memories that would transcend time itself.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Roy Gallagher and Iris Deal Gallagher; sister Sherry Gallagher Cumbie and brother Roy S. Gallagher.  She is survived by son William Hurley and his wife Lynn; sister Carol Neill and her husband Stanley; grandchildren Brenna and Colin Hurley; niece Lina Tafolla; nephew Scott Akers; niece Laci Wiede and her husband Jason; nephew Pat Hurley and his wife Jill; niece Nikki Hurley; as well as many great nieces, nephews and other relatives.
