Dora L.
Aumada
Jul 14, 1939 — Dec 27, 2022
Jourdanton
Dora Aumada, our beloved mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord on December 27th, 2022. She was 83 years old, and truly one of a kind. Born on July 14th, 1939, to Emilia Trevino, Dora was the oldest of 5 children. At 20 years old she met and married her husband Emilio in November of 1959, and the couple was blessed with 3 children.
Dora was a devoted wife and mother. The family lived in Homestead, Florida for several years where Dora became a substitute teacher for elementary children. Her husband's work as a truck driver allowed the family to travel the country, however they finally settled in Texas, where Dora would continue her education to pursue her true passion in cosmetology. Dora owned and operated her own beauty salon until she retired at the age 76.
Through the years Dora overcame two battles with cancer proving that although she was of small stature, she had incredible strength. Dora will be greatly missed.
Dora's greatest joy was her family. She and Emilio celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on November 22, 2015, just months before Emilio's passing the following year.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emilio P. Aumada; parents, Jose Angel and Emilia Lara; sister, Rosemary Lara and brother, Saloman Treviño.
Dora is survived by her children, Jesusita Martinez, Ramona Aumada, and Victor Aumada and wife Ramona; grandchildren, Melissa Oliva, Laura Oliva and husband Javier Orta, Charlie Ann Gallegos and husband Javier and Daniel Oliva and wife Alexis; great-grandchildren, Zach Orta, Mary Gallegos, Mady Gallegos, Memphis Gallegos, Emilia Oliva and Maleena Oliva. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosalinda Sandoval and Elena Treviño.
