2 Tim. 4: 7-8 " I fought the fine fight, I have run the race to the finish, I have observed the faith. From this time on, there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me as a reward in that day…".
Dorotea (Dora) Campos Herrera, a devoted Jehovah's Witness, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend fell asleep in death Monday, December 9th 2024.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life Fernando Herrera, and by her eldest daughter, Blanca Estella whom she loved dearly.
She was born on February 24th 1957, in San Antonio, Texas to Ascension and Aurora Campos. She was mother to William Limon (married to Jaxira) Rudy Limon (married to Kasey) Teodoro Carmona (married to Adriana) Dahlia Kenley (married to John) and Eliseo Herrera. She has a total of twenty two grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and is survived by her sister, Gloria Alvarez.
Growing up, music was constant in her home, her father was a talented musician who loved to sing and played multiple musical instruments. She shared this love of music with her children who all share her love of Tejano music. She was a talented singer and loved to karaoke. She shared her love of singing with her eldest daughter, Blanca and they often sang duets together. Dora married her beloved husband (Fernando) on July 10th 1993.
She was a woman of faith that had no problem showing love and discipline through scripture. She'd often say her faith is what kept her strong. She loved her God Jehovah and shared that Godly love with all of whom she encountered.
Dora maintained a close relationship with all of her children despite the many miles between them. Whether they were in Texas or Indiana she had an unbreakable and unique bond with each of them. She will be greatly missed.
The family has decided to do a private memorial service for their mother.
