Dorothy (Dottie) Mae Ellis, 91 of Poteet, passed away with her family by her side on February 23, 2024. She was born to Edward Ray and Ethel Irene (Slaughter)Spiers.

Dottie was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, quilting, traveling and dog grooming.

She is survived by her daughter, Frankie Lynn Ellis, granddaughter, Heather Williams (Thomas), great grandchildren, Chalay Pierce (Tyler), and TJ, and great-great grandchild, Mackenzie, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Gene Ellis; parents, Edward and Ethel Spiers; brother, Sonny Spiers, and great grandson, James Williams.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM, in Oak Island Cemetery, 2970, DeVilbiss Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78264.
