Dorothy L. LaGrange Pawelek, 80, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026. Born on June 20, 1945, to Johnnie Willard LaGrange and Edna Nell LaGrange Rakowitz.

She was a lifelong resident of Poteet, Texas. Dorothy was retired from Poteet I.S.D. and Atascosa County Juvenile Detention Center serving in the food service departments. Dorothy also represented Kiolbassa Smoked Meats in the Atascosa County area. She was always proud of her service to kids in the area and enjoyed their smiles as she served them.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Clemence "Clem" Pawelek; grandson, Westley Konrad Pawelek; and parents, Johnnie Willard LaGrange and Edna Nell LaGrange Rakowitz.

She is survived by sons, David Pawelek (Debbie), Roger Pawelek (Tracie), George "Butch" Pawelek (Tina); grandchildren, Jessica Kidd (Eugene), Erica Pawelek (Domingo), Kevin Pawelek, Evan Pawelek, Gage Pawelek, Adyson Pawelek, and Cameron Young; great-grandchildren, Madalyn Bowcut (Treyton), Haylee Kidd, Kolbi Perkins and great-great-grandchild, Sterling Bowcut.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  A graveside service will be held at Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, starting at 10:00 am.
