Douglas "Doug" P. Burdick
November 29, 1945 – March 23, 2026

Douglas "Doug" P. Burdick, a proud Vietnam veteran and devoted family man, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on November 29, 1945, Doug was raised with strong values that carried him through a life defined by service, love, and dedication to those around him.

Doug honorably served his country during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage and commitment. Beyond his service, he was known as a great man—steadfast, hardworking, and deeply loyal to his family and friends. He had a quick wit and a natural sense of humor, always able to make those around him laugh, even in difficult moments.

A true provider, Doug worked hard throughout his life to support his family, never shying away from responsibility. He stepped up whenever he was needed, putting his loved ones first and doing whatever it took to make sure they were cared for. His strength and reliability were a foundation his family could always count on.

Doug also shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Ali, who was truly the love of his life. Together, they built a life rooted in commitment, partnership, and unwavering devotion.

He took great pride in his family and in the values, he passed down. Doug taught the boys in his life what it meant to be men—instilling strength, responsibility, and respect through both his words and his actions. He lived by example and left a lasting impression on those who looked up to him.

Doug also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including a good glass of whiskey, often shared in the company of family & friends, stories and laughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma Thompson and Gilford Burdick, his sons, Murrice Luna and James Luna, grandson, Conrad Tazz Coronado and his sister, Ida Sue Daughtery.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Ali M. Burdick, who stood by his side through life's many seasons; his children, Monica Luna, Rex Allen Luna Sr., and Misty Burdick; and his sister, Mary Louise Akers. He was a proud grandfather to Teresa Nuñez (husband Jamin), Marina Gaitan, Armando Coronado Jr. (wife Courtney), Cameron Luna, Sr., McKenzie Luna, James Luna, Jr., Noah Luna, Naena Luna, Rex Luna, Jr., Lance Luna and Alianna Luna, as well as a cherished great-grandfather to Kelsee Woolever, Mason Woolever, Luke Woolever, Dracub Coronado, Armani Coronado, Cameron Luna, Jr., and Marella Luna.

Doug is also survived by many friends and extended family who will miss him dearly. Doug will be remembered for his strength, his humor, his work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the generations that follow him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, on Monday, March 30, 2026 starting at 4:00 pm followed by the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Rutledge Cemetery.
