In loving memory of Edmond Joe Geyer, July 20, 1943 – February 4, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edmond Joe Geyer, known fondly as Bubba, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on February 4th, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born to Frank August Geyer and Monte Green Geyer on July 20, 1943, in Marfa, Texas, Bubba's early years were spent in Charlotte, Texas, a place he would call home for most of his life.

Bubba's journey took him from the halls of Charlotte High School to the campus of Texas A&I University, now known as Texas A&M Kingsville. His commitment to service led him to the US Navy, where he dedicated eight years of his life, stationed in San Diego, California, and Corpus Christi, Texas, achieving the rank of Petty Officer First Class. After his military service, Bubba ventured into real estate in San Diego before returning to his roots in Charlotte. There, he embraced the life of farming peanuts and ran a successful agriculture chemical office until his retirement.

Bubba was preceded in death by both of his parents, Frank August Geyer, Sr. (1908-1967) and Monte G Geyer (1911-2007) who lived in Charlotte from 1947 until their deaths.

Bubba had 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Frank August Geyer, Jr of Charlotte, Texas; his son Randy Geyer and wife Jamie of Frisco, Texas, and their children Chelsea Oheim (Ben), Erin Yamamoto (Riley), and Joy Geyer; his son, Rick Geyer and wife Claudia of Austin, Texas, and their children David Geyer (Emily), Marshall Geyer (Clare Burke), and Catherine Geyer; his daughter, Kerry Smelser of Jourdanton, Texas, and her daughter Kelsey Smelser; and his daughter, Kelly Geyer, Kerry's twin, also of Jourdanton.

A graveside service celebrating Bubba's life will be held on Friday, February 9th at Charlotte City Cemetery at 1:30 pm. A procession will leave Hurley's Funeral Home at 12:30 pm. Pallbearers will be: David Geyer, Marshall Geyer, Tobin Brauchle, John Garner, Justis Rawling, Johnny Rodriguez, Mark Wilson, Bubba Woodlee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the First Baptist Church of Charlotte Building Fund in Bubba's memory.

Bubba's journey through life was marked by hard work, strength, and compassion. Rest in peace, Bubba. You will forever be in our hearts.
