With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jose Eduardo "Edward" Uribe, a cherished father, brother, uncle, grandfather and godfather. Edward, born on January 17, 1953, in Driscoll, TX, left this world on August 1, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe Uribe, Eduardo Uribe Sr.

Known for his love for being outside, reading, and music, Edward lived a simple life yet touched the hearts of many with his gentle soul. He was a talented musician and found joy and solace on his porch playing his guitar and singing. Edward was a devout Catholic and read his Bible every day. Although he could not attend services in person he did watch Mass on tv every Sunday and prayed before every meal.

Edward leaves behind his children Rachel Uribe Galvan and Cody Uribe; sisters Tina Benavidez (Saul) and, Elva Silva (Vicente); brothers David, Robert and Roy Uribe; grandchildren Ashlee Escalante, AlexRose, Isaac (Karissa) and Ayrika Galvan, Cirrina, Codeano, Cylee and Carly Uribe;
great-grandchildren Stetson Lane Galvan, Tommy and Lane.

A public viewing in honor of Edward will be held at Hurley Funeral Home on August 7, 2024, starting at 5:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to join in a mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church on August 8, 2024, at 10:00 am. Although Edward has left us, his spirit will continue to resonate through the memories he shared with us all.

May he find peace in the eternal embrace of our loving God. Rest in peace, Sonny.
