Obituary

Elaine Brown. She was the light at the end of our tunnel. The one who made everyone's day better, the one most of us called mom, gained her wings on August 27th, 2025. Besides being a loving mother, she was a wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.

Elaine was known by her legacy that spread throughout the Rossville/Poteet community. Her presence was known wherever she went. With her glamorous jewelry, unique style and vibrant spirit, she was known wherever the road took her. Especially when she was driving around town in her little truck. You could never miss her smile or wave.

She was a true social butterfly. Her passion for the people was something she was very proud of. She connected with everyone and greeted them with open arms. Her heart was as good as gold, and her hugs could make anyone feel at home.

Elaine owned Brown's OK Corral in Rossville, Texas. A place most called home but also a special place this side of the river, where you could leave the world behind and relax. Elaine was always the first one to come up to each table and either say howdy or introduce herself and be appreciative for coming by. She loved her regulars very much and enjoyed the new faces that would come through each week. Elaine ensured that you felt welcomed.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Tina McGuire (Shawn), Priscilla Aldana, and Laurie Aldana (Henry Garzes). She was a cherished grandmother to Chelsea Aldana (Anthony Romero, Ian McGuire, Dray Baber, Zoe Baber, Izabella Binienda, Marinah Garzes, and a proud great-grandmother to Annalise McGuire and Serenity Romero. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Romo, and her brother, Robert Brown (Hilaria), in addition to many nieces, nephews, and countless life long friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Pauline Brown, and her brothers, Joe C. and Roy C. Brown.

Elaine's famous cooking and bright smile captured the hearts of everyone she met. Though her kitchen lights may now be off, the legacy she created will never fade. She may no longer be with us in person, but her memory and love live on in our hearts every day.
