Eliseo A. Barrera "Cheo", age 66, passed away on October 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Emilio and Hortencia Barrera, born on July 28, 1957, in Pleasanton, TX.

Those blessed to know him describe him as kind, humble, and dedicated to his family. He took pride and was passionate and devoted to his work as an oil field supervisor. If you were lucky enough to know him, you knew his sense of humor was unmatched.

In his leisure time, he loved cooking shows, barbecuing, cutting grass, and spending time with family and friends. Eliseo enjoyed numerous adventures of traveling with his family, sightseeing, fishing, visiting museums, and enjoying good food and drinks. His biggest purpose was loving and providing for his family. He found love at a young age and made the most of it every day with his wife of 40 years. He was beyond proud of his children and grandchildren; they brought him so much joy. He showed the same fatherly love to many other family members and friends who sought his guidance. Many found comfort in the love that radiated from him in his smile and big hugs. His absence will be deeply felt every single day.

Eliseo is survived by his loving wife, Rachel of Charlotte; 2 sons, Jacob A. Barrera (Tammy Barrera) of Charlotte, and Jason A. Barrera (Chrissy Barrera) of Corpus Christi; his one and only daughter, Celina Elise Barrera (Joseph Wilde) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Isaiah and Alyna Barrera, and Penelope Elise and Callum Barrera. He is also survived by his brother Emilio Barrera (Glenda Barrera) of Laredo; sister-in-laws Frances Barrera and Pauline Barrera, the Calvillo family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Olga Almaras (Margarito Almaras), brothers Oscar Barrera, Raymond Barrera, and Baldemar Barrera.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Rosary to begin at 7pm. On Thursday, October 12, 2023, a graveside service will be held at Charlotte Community Cemetery at 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be: Jacob Barrera, Jason Barrera, Richard Barrera, Joe Cumpian, Rick Luna, Rick Luna Jr., Jason Lascano, Ricky Zuniga and Ricardo Cortez.
