Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Crabb passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born in Christine, Texas, on August 30, 1937, to Elmer Thorp and Fay (Golden) Thorp.
Liz was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved gathering with family, playing cards, and spending time with friends. She enjoyed RV travel across the country to visit as many states and interesting sights as possible. She was an accomplished artist, which was one of her lifelong passions. Every family member's house proudly displays her work.
She had a 33-year career in education, beginning with teaching elementary school, then as a counselor, and retiring as principal of Jourdanton High School in 1997.
Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Alonzo "Lonny" Crabb; father and mother, Elmer and Fay Thorp; and brothers, Bill Thorp, John Thorp, and Mickey Thorp.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff Crabb and Alex Crabb (Lynn); daughter, Debbie Riedel (Randy); grandchildren, Jennifer Miles, Matthew Helm (Samatha), Jordan Crabb (Kevin), Jeryn Roberts (Johann), Lauren Crabb and Alex Crabb; great-grandchildren, Makynzie and Hadley Miles, Josephine and Jude Roberts; and her brother, David Thorp (Judy).
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Hurley Funeral Home chapel. A reception will follow.
