Elva Martinez passed away on February 3, 2023 in Poteet at the age of 59.  She was born on June 26, 1963, to Francisca and Pedro De La O.

Elva was always the life of the party with her dancing, singing and joking around.  She will be missed by all her family and friends who loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Fernando Martinez; brothers, Roger De La O and Joe De La O; sisters, Linda Oropeza and husband Juan, Zenaida Rodriguez and husband Juan, and Veronica Hernandez and husband Joe; along with several nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much!

Elva was preceded in death by her parents, Francisca and Pedro De La O; brothers, Rudy De La O and Pedro De La O, Jr.; and nephews, Juan Oropeza, Jr. and Joe Hector Hernandez, Jr.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, all at St. Philip of Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet, starting with a visitation from 9:00 am until 10:30 am, with a reciting of the rosary at 10:30 am and a celebration of mass at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at Madre Dolorosa #2.
