With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elvira Luna, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Elvira was born in Mexico on January 25, 1942, and peacefully passed away on September 15, 2024, at the age of 82. She was the cherished wife of Rafael Luna for 70 years.

Known for her skills in the kitchen and passion for gardening, Elvira found joy in cooking delicious meals and tending to her yard. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and sewing, always filling her days with purpose and productivity. Her gentle nature and nurturing spirit made her the perfect caretaker for her family, providing unwavering love and support to those around her. She was a loving mother that instilled strong work ethics into her children and ensured their every need was taken care of.  She was often called Gram or Mimi by her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She loved every moment she had with them creating lasting memories.

Elvira is survived by her loving husband Rafael Luna; son Robert Luna; sister Rose Campbell (John); brother Jesus Muniz Jr (Elva); as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Elvira was preceded in death by parents Leona and Jesus Muniz; daughter Eva Ballestero; son Daniel Luna; sister Elena Milewski; half-brother Luis Muniz; and daughter-in-law Lauren Luna.

In the quiet moments, we will remember Elvira's warmth and kindness, her unwavering dedication to her family, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace.

Grandsons Samuel Ballesteros,  Emeterio Ballesteros Jr., Daniel Luna, Robert Hunter Luna, Dylan Luna and  Daniel Luna Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 19  from 5-7 p.m. with the reciting of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home-Pleasanton.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church followed by internment at Chilipitin Cemetery in Charlotte.
