Erich H Franke, Jr. was born October 20, 1939, in Karnes City, Texas. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 28, 2023, at the age of 84. Erich was a graduate of Karnes City High School and Texas Lutheran College, a proud Marine in the U.S. Marine Corps, and a much-loved and cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also a blessed member of the Brush Country Emmaus Community.

Erich worked for City Public Service in San Antonio for many years, he owned several businesses in Pleasanton, and he worked for Exxon in Jourdanton and on the King Ranch before retiring.

Erich was preceded in death by his wife, Nell; great-grandson, Chase Henry Fojtik; his parents, Erich and Wallie Franke; and his dear aunt, Doris Mathews.

He is survived by his wife, Karrolyn Kay Brown; his son, David Franke and wife Kathy; his daughter, Kristine Huntsman and husband Mitch; his daughter, Kandee Jo Cooley and husband John.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Greg Brister (Samantha), Lisa Kiser, Lauren Bourman (Doug), Lacee Franke, LeeAnn Franke (Marshall), Jacob Huntsman, and Sophia Cooley; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Kiser, Kendall McMillan, Andersen Bowen, Remingten Bourman, Karsen Bennett, and Aiden Bennett.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3rd in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel in Pleasanton, Texas. Funeral services will be graveside at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3rd at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Jourdanton, Texas.

Pallbearers are Jacob Huntsman, Hunter Kiser, Greg Brister, Marshall Mendez, Albert Jacob, Anthony Jacob, Arnold Jacob, Ben Jacob.
