Jourdanotn
With heavy hearts and deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Estella Gonzales Calvillo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community. She was called to eternal rest on January 24, 2024, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. Estella's memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on November 14, 1937, in Charlotte, Texas, Estella embodied strength, love, and compassion throughout her life.
As a devoted housewife, she found joy and fulfillment in caring for her family and friends. Estella often served as a second mother and second grandma to many and her nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless children in the community. Estella possessed a culinary gift that was admired by all who tasted her cooking. Her homemade flour tortillas were unrivaled, and her creativity in the kitchen knew no bounds. She generously shared her delectable dishes, ensuring that no stomach ever went hungry. Her admiration for the ranch was well known, and Estella proudly bestowed it with the name "El Campo Real". She cultivated a garden filled with vibrant roses, which reflected her nurturing nature and added beauty to her surroundings. Estella's green eyes, a window into her gentle soul, captivated those who had the privilege of meeting her. Though Estella was of a quiet nature, her warm, and inviting personality attracted many friends into her circle. She cherished moments of socialization and found solace in the company of others. Her unwavering generosity and ability to give freely without expectation endeared her to all who were blessed to have known her.
Estella is preceded in death by her parents Joaquin and Felicia Gonzales; and grandson Michael "Bubba" Ramos; siblings Jose, Trinidad, Juanita, Ricardo, Simon, Joaquin Jr., Redolfo, and Victor Gonzales. Estella leaves behind her devoted spouse of 61 years, Jose A. Calvillo; son Armando Calvillo; daughters Norma Zuniga (Richard), Irma Ortiz, and Rita Calvillo-Munoz; brother Manuel Gonzales and almost a "Calvillo" Oscar Davila; grandchildren Rebekah A. Troxtell (Kyle), Annissa A. Calvillo, Matthew A. Calvillo, Marissa E. Zuniga, Clarissa A. Munoz, and Emma G. Munoz; great-grandchild Murphy Troxtell; adopted family to include Silvia, Cristaldo, Vladmir (Gissel, Sebastian great-grandson), Aldair Priscillano, and Michelle Rodriguez.
We want to thank those who were by her side and assisting the family, and caretakers Patricia, Yoli, Daisy, and Cheryl and PT Hydel.
