Eugene
Salazar
Jun 17, 1976 — Nov 12, 2024
Georgetown
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eugene Salazar, a loving husband and dedicated father. Born on June 17, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, Eugene worked hard to create the life he wanted not only for himself, but for his family. Eugene set the example of a loving husband and a faithful friend.
Family meant everything to Eugene; he adored his children and his wife of 30 years, Stephanie. He was known for being a hands-on dad, always making time to play, laugh, and joke around with his kids. In his free time, he enjoyed staying active and running in the mornings. His enjoyment of running began in high school where he ran track and cross country, earning his way to compete at the state-level multiple times.
Eugene was always thinking of ways to leave a legacy behind for his family. He dreamed of owning land and creating the ranch he always envisioned having. A year ago, that dream became a reality when he purchased 12 acres in Jourdanton. He quickly set out to purchase four heads of cattle, not realizing that he would welcome three baby cows late the same year. Eugene was excited to be a cowboy, and his family is endlessly proud of him.
A compassionate leader, Eugene ensured the well-being of his team and was a big believer in having a healthy-work life balance. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, and furthered his education by obtaining a Master's Degree from Texas A&M University - Central Texas in Killeen, Texas. Eugene started his professional career as an installation technician for Spectrum before progressing through the company to become a well-respected Senior Manager of Software Development.
Eugene's life will be celebrated during funeral services that will take place at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Texas. Visitation will be held on November 20, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Please join us in remembering Eugene, a man who touched many lives with his kindness and dedication.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Rudy P. Salazar, and his brother, Rudy Salazar Jr.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie Salazar; daughters Alyssa Jo and Isabella Sofia Salazar; son Mateo Eugene Salazar; mother Elisa Salazar; brothers Ruben (Rose-Ann), Mike, and Alex (Ruby) Salazar; sisters Angie Salazar, Rita Rangel (Greg), Bertha Salazer (Mark Rangel), and Irma Perez; mother and father-in-law Ricky and Diana Lopez; sisters-in-law Jennifer Lopez, and Melissa Lopez (Johnny Clark); numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
