Eugenio "Eugene" Rodriguez, 68, of the Leming area passed away on June 19, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 2, 1955 in San Antonio, TX to Venancio H. Rodriguez and Ernestina Gutierrez Rodriguez.

Eugene was the 4th child in a family of 10 children made up of 9 boys and 1 girl. Eugene was an amazing father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a kind person with a good soul. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a carpenter most of his life. In his younger days he played baseball and played the bass guitar in a country band. He was often told he resembled Waylon Jennings. After he retired, he traded in his carpentry tools for gardening tools.  He found a sense of peace and fulfillment working the soil with the tractor and growing fruits and vegetables.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Heck Rodriguez, son, Charles Heck; and his parents, Venancio and Ernestina Rodriguez.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Rodriguez; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Urrutia; grandchildren, Brianna Lynn Hanson (James) and Alejandro Eugenio Urrutia; great-grandchildren, Chloe Lynn Hanson, Alianna Marie Nicole and Casey Allen Hanson; brothers, Venancio Jr., Edmund, Leonard, Richard, Benjamin, Roger, Alex and Rey Rodriguez; sister, Catherine Brown; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
